WHAT IS MITRAGYNINE?

Mitragynine is a naturally occurring compound found in Kratom leaves, a botanical gaining recognition for its unique properties.

Tru Moods products feature Mitragynine extracts, offering a refined and consistent way to experience the benefits of this remarkable plant.

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN STORY?

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a tropical evergreen tree in the coffee family that is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia.

For centuries, laborers in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia have chewed its leaves or brewed them into a tea.

This traditional use was believed to combat fatigue, increase energy, and relieve pain while enduring long hours of physical work.

There is only one strain of Kratom. Red, Green, or other ‘strains’ are a myth.

IS IT LEGAL IN MY STATE?

In the United States, Kratom is legal at the federal level, but its legality varies significantly by state and even local jurisdiction.

As of 2025, Kratom is illegal to buy, sell, or possess in seven states: Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin. For some states, like Mississippi, Kratom is only illegal in certain cities or counties.
In many other states, the focus has shifted towards regulation through the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA), which sets standards for product testing, labeling, and age restrictions rather than an outright ban.

WHERE CAN I FIND MORE KRATOM INFO?

For information supporting Kratom use and advocacy, the American Kratom Association (AKA) is the leading resource, providing updates on legislation and consumer-focused news.

From a regulatory and safety standpoint, the public should pay close attention to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which issues public health advisories and warnings concerning Kratom's potential risks.

For scientific research and data on its effects, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) offers fact sheets and summaries of what is currently known about the substance.
